Shaligram, is a particular variety of sacred stone collected from riverbed or banks of the Kali Gandaki. They are typically fossils of ammonite shells from the Devonian-Cretaceous period of 400 to 66 million years ago. The stones are considered holy because they bear symbols associated with Vishnu naturally, without any human intervention.
Note: Shaligram is a product of nature and no two pieces of Shaligram are exactly alike. Every piece of Shaligram has unique natural variations, markings and shapes. The pictures are intended as a general guide on how much variation in size can be expected.
