Hanging Cliff (吊口), is a category of Wild Agarwood according to its shape. This type of agarwood forms naturally in the wild where the agarwood tree secretes oil as a defense reaction which naturally protects its injured or infected parts. Over many decades of this natural process, the infested part of tree is then covered by a thick and fragrant layer of oil.
The Hanging Cliff refers to agarwood hanging on the side of the tree or the wound of the branch. The fragrance is of high quality, clean and pure. Such Agarwood pieces are highly sought after because of the fragrance in the heart of the tree and the flavor of the heart oil.
